Barney is the owner and president of GC West, bringing more than 45 years of leadership in construction, development, and operations.

Before rebranding as GC West, he owned, in part, the same trusted team, proven expertise, and legal entity formerly known as ReyLenn Construction.

His expertise spans high-density urban infill development and the construction and management of Type III, Type III Modified, Type V, and Type V Modified projects. Throughout Southern California, he has successfully secured approvals from building departments and municipal boards of appeals for alternate means and methods.

Barney has led the development of award-winning projects across a broad range of product types, including affordable and luxury multifamily housing, small-lot condominiums, high-density multistory urban developments over parking structures, and the site development and infrastructure of master-planned communities.

Earlier in his career, he served as Regional Senior Vice President of Construction Operations for MGI and its affiliate, Morgan Construction Company, as Director of Operations for Irvine Apartment Communities (IAC) San Diego, followed by roles as Development Manager and Vice President of Operations for KB Home’s Urban High-Density Division in Irvine, California. At KB Home, he directed all aspects of the company’s urban construction projects throughout Southern California.

His experience encompasses the full development lifecycle, from conceptual design, predevelopment, and preconstruction estimating to land acquisition, contract negotiations, joint venture relationships, and construction operations. Over the course of his career, Barney has delivered numerous award-winning communities across California.

Jennifer McKinley is Director of Operations at GC West, where she draws on more than 20 years of experience to build strong relationships and align interests to deliver successful project outcomes for all stakeholders.

She leads pre-construction services, budget management, bid coordination, subcontractor coordination, and day-to-day operations. With hands-on involvement throughout the construction lifecycle, Jennifer works closely with developers, government agencies, and consultants to keep projects aligned and moving forward.

Before helping to form GC West, Jennifer served as Senior Project Manager at its predecessor, ReyLenn Construction, and as Development Project Manager at The Morgan Group, Inc., where she led entitlement and pre-construction design teams. Earlier, as an Internal Staff Auditor at Webster Financial Corporation — a $70 billion financial institution — she provided oversight across business and consumer banking, national mortgage lending, and regulatory compliance. Her background also includes architectural construction defect investigations.

Jennifer is a LEED® Accredited Professional with a specialty in Building Design and Construction, a credential awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council that underscores her commitment to sustainable, high-performance building practices.

Corey serves as General Superintendent for GC West and has been with the company, formerly known as ReyLenn Construction, for more than 17 years.

Previously, Corey served as Western Division General Superintendent for Fairfield Residential, where he was responsible for the completion of more than 24,000 units across California, Nevada, Arizona, Washington, and Oregon.

Corey’s extensive experience spans subterranean and slab-on-grade construction, including three-story garden-style communities and four- and five-story wrap and podium projects. He oversees, trains, and supports GC West’s field superintendents from plan review through execution of Type V and Type III projects across the region. His leadership promotes constructability and seamless coordination among superintendents, developers, government agencies, and consultants.

Corey works closely with project superintendents, trade contractors, owners’ consultants, and city building officials to manage project schedules and maintain quality control throughout every phase — from sitework and vertical construction to unit turns and final project delivery.

Since joining ReyLenn Construction, now GC West, Corey has contributed to the successful delivery of more than 9,000 units representing $2.2 billion in construction across California and Colorado, including numerous award-winning projects.

Shaunna brings 27 years of experience in multifamily real estate financing and accounting. She has spent more than 17 years with GC West, formerly ReyLenn Construction, and now leads the company’s accounting team as Construction Accounting Director. She has secured timely funding for 35 diverse projects. Each came with its own requirements and oversight from multiple regulatory agencies, which called for innovation and adaptability.

Shaunna combines strategic oversight with hands-on execution. She has built strong, collaborative relationships with partners, lenders, subcontractors, and construction teams that keep projects moving to a successful finish. She also developed and refined the company’s accounting system, which greatly improved how efficiently it runs. In the industry she is known for speeding up lender funding while keeping strict compliance with regulatory standards.

Before GC West, Shaunna worked at Fairfield Residential. There she played a key role in completing 10 multi-state projects, including several tax credit developments and the company’s first LEED®-certified project. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from California State University San Marcos.

Lauri brings over 33 years of financial and accounting experience to GC West, formerly ReyLenn Construction, where she serves as Controller. She was pivotal behind the scenes during the company’s rebranding.

Prior to GC West, Lauri was Controller for a multifamily and mixed-use real estate development company. She oversaw all financial aspects of the organization, including financial support for acquisition due diligence, financing and risk management, and financial reporting to investors and lenders. Lauri also served as Controller for a regional developer in Southern California.

Lauri began her career as a Senior Accountant for a commercial investment company, gaining experience in hospitality and commercial development. She also worked with Brookfield Homes, a North American home builder and land developer. Lauri holds a Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in Accounting from Colorado State University.
